Exo-Tech started off in the Philippines on the island of Malapascua at the northern tip of Cebu with a dive shop called Exotic Island Dive Resort, and was in fact a play on the word "exotic", giving the word "Exo-Tech".

Since then, this website now encompasses any technical diving its' author does in Asia, still keeping up the idea of technical diving in exotic locations. As from March 2006, this site will be hosted from the island of Tioman on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, where Terry will be conducting IANTD technical courses and running day trips out to the wrecks of the British battleships, HMS Repulse, and HMS Prince of Wales. Also, the Dutch submarines K-17 and O-16, among others. The season ends in late October when Terry will be organising trips back to the Philippines, to dive in Puerto Galera, Coron and Malapascua, and possibly Truk Lagoon.
